Born from
the Earth

The raw material for American Dream 250 is a rare natural specimen of Brazilian ruby-bearing corundum — one of the hardest minerals on Earth, second only to diamond, with a Mohs hardness of 9.

Sourced from Campo Formoso, in the state of Bahia, Brazil, the rough stone weighed considerably more than the finished 137 kg sculpture — every extra kilogram removed by hand, revealing the monumental imagery within.

The natural coloration of the corundum — ranging from deep crimson and ruby-red to iridescent violet, green, and teal — mirrors the richness and diversity of the American story itself.

A Bridge
Between Two Nations

The vision for American Dream 250 originated from the desire to create a lasting artistic tribute to the 250-year journey of the United States of America.

Rather than producing a traditional commemorative object, Satriano Arts envisioned a monumental sculpture capable of expressing the strength, resilience, and aspirations of a nation through the timeless medium of natural gemstone art.

The result is an unprecedented work that combines Brazilian mineral heritage with American historical symbolism, creating a unique bridge between two nations connected by opportunity, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit.

A rare natural specimen of Brazilian ruby-bearing corundum is selected — its mass, color, and crystalline structure assessed for the monumental vision ahead.

First cuts and rough shaping Step 02 · February 2026
Rough Shaping

Angle grinders and pneumatic chisels begin the rough reduction — removing mass to reveal the sculpture's general silhouette within the stone.

Detail carving begins Step 03 · March–May 2026
The Details Emerge

Master sculptor Galego GT begins the painstaking process of rendering iconic imagery — eagle feathers, Capitol columns, presidential faces — in high relief directly into the living gemstone.

Stars and flag carving Step 04 · May 2026
Stars & Stripes

The American flag — fifty stars and thirteen stripes — is carved across the gemstone surface. Each star individually rendered. An act of devotion as much as craft.

Final polishing and completion Step 05 · June 12, 2026
Completion
